Obituary: Constance 'Connie' Samson Luettich

Constance "Connie" Samson Luettich, May 4, 1934 - Nov. 26, 2012.

Constance “Connie” Samson Luettich, 78, a Yorkville resident for 50 years, passed away on Monday, Nov. 26, 2012 at her daughter’s home. She was born in Holyoke, Mass. on May 4, 1934 to Elzear and Yvonne (Fontaine) Samson.

She married John K. Luettich, Jr., in Springfield, Mass. on Nov. 6, 1954. She was an activity assistant and C.N.A and very active in church and community service. Connie took pride and worked tirelessly in nursing homes, in activities always cheering up and helping residents. When it was her time in a nursing home she continued encouraging and singing with residents. Connie always had a kind word for family and friends. She enjoyed her friendships in the Yorkville community and churches. Connie was one of the founding members of SOS-Survivors of Suicide.

She is survived by sons, Arne Luettich of Plano, and Mark (Jackie) Luettich of Yorkville; daughters, Nancy Grandgeorge of St. Robert, Mo. and Ruth (Jeff Henrichs) Luettich of Elburn; grandchildren, Melissa Lee and Nolan (Sandra) Lee, Rebecca (Greg) Frieders, Lauren and Austin Luettich, Alex and Emma Grandgeorge, Anna, Caroline, Audrey and Ash Henrichs; great-grandchildren, Brandon and Briana Lee; brothers, Guy (Lorraine) Samson and Leo (Bev) Samson; sisters-in-law, Susan (Leo) Froelich and Sally (Chuck) Stading; brother-in-law, Richard (Gloria) Luettich; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John K. Luettich, Jr in 1997; daughters, Lynn Ann in 1981 and Karen Marie Lee in 1982; sister, Lois; father-in-law, John K. Luettich, Sr.; mother-in-law, Celeste “Mom” Luettich; sisters-in-law, Joyce Luettich and Joanne Wise.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 30, 2012 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 406 Walnut Street in Yorkville, with Father Matthew Lamoureux, M.I.C., officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Yorkville.

Friends may visit from 4 - 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 East Countryside Parkway in Yorkville.
