Obituary: Brian L. Jensen

Brian L. Jensen, 54, of Yorkville, died unexpectedly Monday.

Larson-Nelson Funeral Home provided the following obituary:

Brian L. Jensen, age 54, of Yorkville, IL passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 15, 2012 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He was born on July 12, 1958 in Lincoln, IL the son of Marvin R. and Shirley A. (Stern) Jensen.

Brian was united in marriage on October 9, 1982 in Pocahontas, MO to the former Cynthia Ann Bogenpohl and they spent the next 30 happy years of their lives together. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle.

Brian was a 1976 graduate of Lincoln High School in Lincoln, IL. He received both a BA in Education in 1981 and a Director of Christian Education in 1982 from Concordia University in River Forest, IL. Brian enjoyed water sports with his sons, fishing, reading, watching old movies, and playing the piano. Mr. Jensen was employed by the Lord Almighty and is now working from HOME.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Jensen of Yorkville, IL; his sons, Joshua (Raquel) Jensen of O’Fallon, MO, and Seth and Nathaniel Jensen of Yorkville, IL; his grandchildren, Aiden Robert and Liam Edward Jensen of O’Fallon, MO; his father, Marvin Jensen of Kenney, IL; his siblings, Steven (Lisa) Jensen, Mark (Hazel) Jensen, Renee (Frederick) Wrage, Kevin (Lori) Jensen, and Ruth (Randy) Hutchison; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Jensen.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Cross Lutheran Church, 8609 Rt. 47, Yorkville, IL with Rev. Dan Gilbert officiating. Interment will be private.

Friends may visit from 4:00 until 9:00 PM on Friday, October 19, 2012 and from 10:00 AM until the Hour of Service on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Cross Lutheran Church in Yorkville, IL.

Donations may be made to the Brian L. Jensen Memorial Account at Castle Bank in Yorkville, IL, attention Shira. The Brian L. Jensen Memorial Account will be designated as a scholarship for students going into full-time church related ministry or to the charity of the donors choice.
