Obituary: Bobby R. Fisher

Bobby R. Fisher, 76 of Yorkville, formerly of Aurora, died Sunday.

Larson-Nelson Funeral Home provided the following obituary:

Bobby R. Fisher, age 76 of Yorkville, IL formerly of Aurora, IL passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born on November 24, 1935 in Herrin, IL the son of Nathan Stanley and Beulah (Ball) Fisher.

Bobby was united in marriage on April 15, 1968 in Aurora, IL to the former Miss Sara Jo Pauley and they spent the next 44 happy years together. While serving his country proudly with the United States Air Force from 1954 thru 1958, Bobby was a member of his squad’s baseball team. He then continued to play baseball for several years on various Aurora baseball teams. Mr. Fisher was employed for 32 years as an Inspector at Caterpillar, Inc. in Montgomery, IL. Bobby was a longtime member of the Aurora Third Ward Club. He enjoyed playing golf, watching the Atlanta Braves Baseball Team on television and was also a wonderful and talented handyman who could fix anything. Bobby was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Sara Jo Fisher of Yorkville, IL; his daughter, Margo (Mark) Jeter of Montgomery, IL; his grandson, Matthew Jeter; and his brother, Stanley Fisher of Indianapolis, IN; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan and Beulah Fisher; his two sisters, JoAnn Moore and Betty Galati; and his brother, Jerry Fisher.
