Obituary: Anna Marie Ahrens

Anna Marie Ahrens, 89 of Yorkville,died Oct. 25 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora.

She was born April 24, 1923 in Breese, IL the daughter of Frank and Josephine (Peek) Richter.

Anna was united in marriage January 10, 1944 in Chicago, IL to Mr. Lester L. Ahrens and they spent the next 40 happy years together until his passing on June 9, 1984. She was the bookkeeper for the family business, Ahrens Feed Service in Yorkville, IL, which she and her husband owned and operated. Mrs. Ahrens was a devoted member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Yorkville, IL. Anna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Anna is survived by her children, Barbara (James) Swiatek, Palatine, IL, Melvin (Kathryn) Ahrens, Yorkville, IL, David (Susan) Ahrens, Yorkville, IL, Annette (Frank) Kreuzer,  Roselle, IL and Marilyn (Lane) Hiland, Elgin, IL; her nine grandchildren; her ten great-grandchildren; her sisters, Bernadine Huelsmann and Martha (Paul) Tebbe, both of Breese, IL; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lester L. Ahrens; her daughter, Ellen Ahrens; her granddaughter, Amy Lynn Ahrens; and sisters, Helen Johnson, Agnes Teiple and Mary Richter in infancy; also an infant brother, Vincent Richter.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 29, 2012 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 406 Walnut Street, Yorkville, IL with Father Matthew Lamoureux, M.I. C., officiating. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Bristol, IL.

Friends may visit from 4:00 until 7:00 PM on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 East Countryside Parkway, Yorkville, IL.
