Mary A. Collins, 84, Loved Baking Pies and Enjoyed Going to the Casino Boat

Mary A. Collins, age 84 of Plano, IL passed away at her home, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, April 13, 2013. She was born on December 12, 1928 in Connecticut, the daughter of George and Annie LoPriore.

Mary was united in marriage on January 29, 1955 to Mr. Kenneth Eugene Collins and they spent the next 46 happy years together until his passing on July 31, 2001. Mrs. Collins was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Plano, IL. Mary enjoyed going to the casino boat, playing cards and bingo. She loved cooking, baking pies and spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.

Mary is survived by her children, Sue (Beaver) Helgren, Sandwich, IL, Joni (Bill) Schnabel, Norway, IL, Keith Collins, Plano, IL, Kelly (Patti) Collins, Somonauk, IL, Linda (Ronnie) Smith, Farmington, KY and Micki (Ray) Espinoza, Plano, IL; her fourteen grandchildren; her twenty-two great-grandchildren; brother, Pete (Val) LoPriore, Florida; sisters, Teresa Randeau, Connecticut and Rose Vorrieter, Florida; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth Eugene Collins; her grandson, Jacob Smith; and a brother, Jim LoPriore.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 1001 North Center Avenue, Plano, IL with Father Andy Davy, M.I.C. officiating. Interment will follow in the Little Rock Township Cemetery, Plano, IL.

Friends may visit from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 1010 West South Street, Plano, IL.
