Jason Bryant Kohler, 40, Passed Due to a Seizure; Enjoyed Championing Social Causes He Believed In

A memorial gathering for Jason Kohler will be held on Thursday, May 30 at 4 p.m. An informal service will take place at 6 p.m.

A memorial gathering in remembrance of Jason Bryant Kohler, cherished son of Rennetta Sorensen Mickelson of Plano and Ramon Kohler of Lake George will take place, Thursday, May 30, beginning at 4 p.m. in the Meadowhawk Lodge at the Hoover Forest Preserve on Fox Rd, Yorkville.  A brief informal service will take place at 6 p.m. 

Jason was born Nov. 14, 1972 in Aurora, on his mom’s birthday. He departed this life due to a seizure, while at home in Minneapolis on May 5. He was 40.  Jason was intelligent and witty, enjoying lively discussions on various topics and championing the social causes in which he believed. 

A few of his many interests were reading, music, the outdoors, sporting events, Family Guy and being with his friends. He enjoyed the restaurant business, studied wines and had hoped to become a master sommelier. He also had other entrepreneurial aspirations.

In addition to his parents, Jason leaves behind a sister, Erica Kohler Dillon, a brother Michael Mickelson, a sister Kym, aunts, uncles, nieces, a nephew and cousins, as well as many friends some of whom were like family.

A tree will be planted and plaque provided to the Kendall County Forest Preserve in Jason’s memory to “provide a kindness for many generations.
