Chester "Chet" Johansen Jr., 62, was Owner of DeKalb Blower and Winner of 2012 Yorkville Rib Fest

Chester "Chet"F. Johnansen Jr. passed away on March 7.

Chester “Chet” F. Johansen, Jr., age 62, of Yorkville, IL passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Valley West Community Hospital in Sandwich, IL. He was born on June 3, 1950 in Aurora, IL the son of Chester F. and Mary Johansen, Sr.

Chet was united in marriage on March 31, 1979 to the former Joan Wilson and they spent the next 34 happy years together. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.

Mr. Johansen was the owner of DeKalb Blower in Yorkville, IL. Chet was a talented Cajun cook and was a winner at the 2012 Rib Fest in Yorkville, IL. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time at his home in the Northern Woods with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Johansen of Yorkville, IL; his children, Jeffrey Johansen of Homer Glenn, IL, Heather (Michael) Wayne of Chicago, IL, Eric (Nicole Peterson) Johansen of Yorkville, IL, and Caitlin (Jimmy) Hall of Yorkville, IL; his two week old grandson, E.J. Johansen and two soon-to-be grandsons; his brother, Martin (Dori) Slusarik of Downers Grove, IL; his sisters, Joanne (Lenny) Ciolkosz of Naperville, IL, Mary Ann (Jim) Young of North Carolina, and Diane (Frank) DeRose of Arkansas; as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; and his three dogs, Lucy, Cisco and Ethel.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister.
