Video: How Scary is Yorkville's Jail of the Dead?

The second annual haunted house is raising money to restore Kendall County's former jail.

will offer "tours" of Kendall County's at 111 W. Madison St. again Friday and Saturday. Volunteers created the haunted house with help from Yorkville and Sandwich area students.

The afternoon tours are geared toward younger students, perhaps those in first grade or older, organizer Howard Manthei said. The lights remain on through those tours and no actors are in place. For the later shows, actors decked out in blood and gore inhabit the jail, but don't touch visitors, Manthei said.

The cost is $4 per person or $14 per family, and refreshments also are for sale.
