I Speak For The Trees.

Last year in Yorkville, 1,600. trees were cut down due to emerald ash borer infestation. 

Additional trees were cut down due to the Rt. 47 widening. There is not a plan to replace these trees. www.ispeakforthetrees.org was created to bring awareness and host fundraisers to bring trees to Yorkville. 

We were able to successfully purchase parkway trees as well as give a tree to everyone who had requested one via our website. 

www.ispeakforthetrees.org is in full-effect for 2014! 
We've created events on and around Earth Day: April 22, 2014.

Attend Yoga For the TREES in Town Center Park in Yorkville on April 27th at 1:00 pm. Bring a donation to the trees to attend this class free outdoor yoga class. Children are welcome, too. Join us for Taco Tuesday for the TREES at Salsa Verde Mexican Restaurant on EARTH DAY: April 22nd, get $1.00 tacos and make a donation! http://salsaverderestaurant.com/

Attend Ice Cream for the TREES at Foxy's Ice Cream on EARTH DAY: April 22 from 4pm-8pm. 30% of all the proceeds from the day will go to buy trees! http://www.foxysicecream.com/

Donation jars are currently at: Karma Skin + Massage, Sense of Samadhi, Dave's Meat Market, and Cobblestone Bakery and Bistro. 

We are also working on proposing a bill that: "no tree shall be cut down without a seedling or tree planted to replace it." Should this become a law, it will kindly be called: The Lorax Law. Please stay tuned for ways to support this.
