Skylanterns bought today. Glow necklaces bought today. Ready??

Music. Face painters, and glow necklaces. Vendors with ice cream, popcorn and more. Dancers. Fire performers. You'd think that was enough, but no. There's more. A skylantern launch. Join us June 1st.

A song was recently introduced to me:
"Light it Up" - For King and Country.

The chorus goes:

Find out what's happening in Yorkvillewith free, real-time updates from Patch.

Light it up and let it go
Don't you see that you are not alone
Light it up and watch it fly
‘Cause you can go anywhere you want tonight

It's a really great song. Check it out: http://youtu.be/Gt_NFb3y-gg

Last Summer, I went to a party at a friend's house. Melyssa and Tony Thryselius. Their house is beautiful and their backyard is a playground for kids of all ages.

Friends were playing in the pool, enjoying the barbeque, and playing a game of bags. They told us how they had launched skylanterns earlier in the night. I had no idea that skylanterns even existed. Tony disappeared and then reappeared with a skylantern in his hand.

My friend Pav and I launched the skylantern. It felt like a very thin paper bag. Light-weight. We lit a small cardboard square attached to the lantern and then waited for the lantern to fill with hot air.

It slowly slipped off my fingertips. In wide-eyed wonder, I watched it gently float high into the air. The feeling stuck with me for quite a few days after. Wonder and peace.

Experience this with us. It's unique and wonderful.

"Light it up and let it go. Don't you see that you are not alone.." You'll hear these words as we launch.
