What's Open on Christmas in Yorkville 2013

If you need to fill up the gas tank for a trip, grab a quick snack or purchase a last-minute gift, find out what's open in town.

Christmas Day is time to relax and spend time with your loved ones. 

But you never know when you'll need that last-minute item from the grocery store or that present you forgot. 

Here's a look at what's open in Yorkville on Christmas Day.


Drug stores/convenience stores:

  • Walgreens, 1991 South Bridge Street, open 24 hours a day.
  • Circle K, 1421 North Bridge Street, open 24 hours a day
  • Circle K, 2001 South Bridge Street, open 24 hours a day


Gas Stations

  • Circle K, 1421 North Bridge Street, open 24 hours a day
  • Circle K, 2001 South Bridge Street, open 24 hours a day


Veterinary Care

  • Yorkville Animal Hospital is closed on Christmas day. If your pet has an emergency, you can contact the Plainfield Animal Care Center, 14411 S. Route 59, which is open 24/7, at (815) 436-8387.


What's closed:

  • Yorkville Public Library is closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (Dec. 24 and Dec. 25) and also on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day (Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, 2014).
  • Yorkville City Hall is closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (Dec. 24 and Dec. 25) and New Year's Day (Jan. 1, 2014).
  • Yorkville 115 School District is on Winter break until Jan. 8. Administrators will be in offices, but not on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. 
  • The Yorkville post office is open Christmas Eve until 12 p.m. and closed Christmas Day (Dec. 25) and New Year's Day (Jan. 1, 2014).
  • Jewel-Osco (Route 34, 47) is closed Christmas Day. It will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve, 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on New Year's Eve and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on New Year's Day. 
  • Meijer is closed on Christmas Day. It closes at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve. 
  • Walmart is closed on Christmas Day.
