Suicide Prevention Services of America     www.spsamerica.org
DONATE TODAY.

Suicide Prevention Services has been in the community since May 29, 1998. Our sole mission: TO PREVENT SUICIDE.

Each year, 31,000 people in the United States die by suicide compared to the 18,000 deaths by homicide, and 16,000 deaths by drunk driving.

SPS works to stop suicide through early detection of depression and suicidal thoughts and by assisting family and friends to help their loved ones. Since our inception in May 1998, we have educated over 8,000 people in suicide prevention. The time to fight for life is now and together we can make a difference.

We are just one of seven agencies in the country that offers:
  • Depression Screening
  • Counseling
  • 2 Support Groups a month for attempters
  • 2 Support Groups a month for survivors (family and friends who have lost a loved one to suicide)
  • Training for Prevention
  • School interaction/prevention
  • On site counseling services after a loss by suicide at a school or business
  • A 24-Hour Phone Hotline to call: (800-273-8255)
We are local. In Batavia, IL. Most of our workers are volunteers. We are dependent on donations in order to continue our work.

Where does your donation go??
  • We provide counseling on a sliding scale- if the person doesn't have money, they are not charged. YOUR DONATION helps pay for their counseling sessions to get help.
  • Your donations help pay the basic bills of our building to give us a place to work.
  • Your donations provide the paperwork to distribute for training.
  • Your donations pay our staff modest salaries to counsel and help people.
We appreciate your donation and support. Suicide deaths out-number deaths by car accidents. Veteran suicides are outnumbering combat deaths. Deaths by suicide can be preventable. HELP US MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
