The Kendall County Extension office in Yorkville is offering a workshop on December 11 for child care providers, parents of preschoolers, and preschool teachers. It will be presented by Laura Barr, Extension Nutrition and Wellness Educator, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Kendall County Extension office located at 7775B IL Rt 47 in Yorkville, 1 mile south of the intersections of routes 47 and 71. This
workshop, in addition to being a helpful learning tool, will provide each participant a certificate for 2 contact hours.
This interactive workshop, will focus on serving wholesome
food that children will enjoy. Emphasis will be on promoting food practices that encourage children to try new foods while enjoying the social aspects of eating together. Activities include building a Healthy Plate with state of the art food models, and implementing physical fitness activities. Stretching, balance and strength building exercises will be demonstrated and participants are encouraged to join in the fun. A child friendly, healthy snack will be served during the session.
