Candidate Questions

1)   Why do you want to be circuit clerk for the next four years?

I would like to continue serving the people of Kendall County as their Circuit Clerk because I made a commitment to provide an office that is efficient, fiscally responsible and that meets the needs of the public and the judiciary within the guidelines set forth by the Illinois State Statutes, Supreme Court Rules and local court rules. I have completed projects that have met those goals, enhancing the operations of our office, and have others planned for the next four years that will serve the needs and best interests of the people of Kendall County.

2)   What factors should voters consider when voting for circuit clerk?

Since of the office of Circuit Clerk is central to the operations of the court system, I think that if someone is considering running for this office, they should have a thorough knowledge of how the court system operates and ideally have solid experience working in the court system.

3)   How would you characterize the current management style in the circuit clerk’s office? What changes, if any, do you think should be made in the next four years?

The management style of our office is objective yet open. What I mean by that is that everyone within our office understands what their objective is, their job responsibilities, and is also cross-trained in other duties so that it eliminates any down time. If one area of our office is short-staffed, we've always got it covered. So clearly understanding what is expected is essential, yet we have an open-door policy that invites ideas and input from employees which I believe provides better communication, coordination, and motivation among the employees and the office as a whole.
