In August of 1983, Larry and Norma Albright had a dream of owning a pizza restaurant. Their dream became a reality and they opened their doors on August 29, 1983. They started small on the corner of Main and West next to the Plano Bowling Alley. “We had two picnic tables, one oven and very loyal staff,” recalls Jennifer, the daughter of the owners.
A few years passed and demand increased and they landed at 108 W Main St. in Plano where they still serve pizzas today. A lot has changed in 30 years but what has remained the same is the recipe that makes Uncle Lar’s unique. Homemade crust, sauce and other ingredients is what sets them apart. “We have customers who move away and always order pizzas when they visit. They swear it’s the best pizza anywhere!” says Norma. “We see a lot of familiar faces each week and over the years they have become friends.”
In a time where many businesses are closing their doors, Uncle Lar’s remains committed to serving its’ customers the same delicious pizza they have eaten for years. In celebration of this landmark anniversary, Uncle Lar’s will be offering special deals for the weekend. Come in Friday, August 30th through Sunday, September 1st and win a prize from $2 off a pizza to a free pizza and more.
