Yorkville Area Chamber of Commerce Awards Two Scholarships for Future Business Leaders

Edward Sandor and Lynnessa Davis each received a $1,000 scholarship from the Chamber for their college education.

The following release was issued by the Yorkville Area Chamber of Commerce:

The Yorkville Area Chamber of Commerce, in its effort to recognize and support the education of future business leaders, awards an annual $1,000 scholarship to a Yorkville High School student based on criteria including school performance, ACT scores, financial need, and other characteristics indicative of drive and future success.

Happily, this year the Chamber was able to award not one but two scholarships.

Our congratulations to:

Edward (Eddie) Sandor will be attending Bradley University where he’ll study Electrical and Computer Engineering. Eddie has been the Lead Programmer and Web Developer for the school’s robotics club, and among other amazing achievements also has the distinct accomplishment of having developed an iPad app that was put up for sale on the App Store early in his Junior year. We feel he has an exciting career ahead of him!

Lynnessa Davis will be heading to Ball State University in Indiana to study music education. Her dedication to excellence is more than apparent, and her leadership capabilities have been known to energize and inspire others. These skills will serve her well in her performing and teaching careers.
