What Are Local Stores' Hours for Christmas Eve?

Several Yorkville area stores are open the day before the holiday for last-minute shoppers.

'Twas the night before Christmas and Yorkville residents make their way into town, all on a different quest in preparation and in celebration of Christmas. While some celebrate the season with candlelight services, others continue family traditions of baking cookies and building gingerbread houses for Old St. Nick's arrival.

Then, there are the flast-minute shoppers hastily finishing their holiday rounds. To help this group, we've compiled a list of Dec. 24 business hours for several locations around Yorkville.

Supermarkets

  • Visit your local on Christmas Eve from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The grocery store chain will be open early morning and in the evening to give you the chance to throw together a last-minute food basket or bouquet of flowers for unexpected guests.
  • will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • will be open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dave's sells a wide variety of fresh and tender meat products with different meat packages available.

Convenience Stores

  • will be open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. for all your basic needs, from gift-wrapping paper, bows and gift tags to Christmas decorations. The store has an abundance of items for under $10.

Department Store

  • will be open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a large stock of discounted and clearance items for men, women and children of all ages.

Restaurants & Bars

  • will be open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • will be open noon to 7 p.m.
  • will be open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Clinic

  • For over-the-counter medicine or prescription pills when all doctor offices are closed, the Walgreens Take Care Clinic will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will accept walk-ins.

Most of these businesses will be closed Christmas Day, but you can find information on which locations will be open on the holiday here.
