Kendall County Food Pantry Holding Pet Food Drive

Drive held Nov. 3-4 at Oswego Petco Store.

Information provided by the Kendall County Food Pantry Pet Food Department.

The Kendall County Food Pantry Pet Food Department will be holding a pet food drive on both Nov. 3 and Nov. 4 at the Oswego Petco Store, 3066 Highway 34. Mary Anne Ryan, Pet Food Distribution Coordinator, will be assisted by both Yorkville Middle School Student Council Members as well as Members from Yorkville Girl Scout Troop 4312. This pet food drive has been scheduled to coincide with the National Petco Pet Food Drive

The Kendall County Food Pantry Pet Food Department has also been recently  asked to be the designated organization at the Petco Shorewood Store, 990 Brookforest Ave. Since Kendall County extends into Plainfield, Joliet, and Minooka, the Shorewood Store will be also accommodating pantry clients and Mary Anne has plans for future pet food drives to be scheduled at the Shorewood store also.

Petco and the Petco Foundation are hosting this third annual National Pet Food Drive, and are calling on all animal lovers to provide a healthy and plentiful holiday season for furry friends across the United States. The National Pet Food Drive began Oct. 28, and will run through Nov. 11.

During the two-week drive, consumers can pick up extra food or litter during their shopping trip, or bring unopened cans or bags from home, and drop them into specially marked pet food collection bins designated for the Kendall County Food Pantry. These bins are located at both the Oswego Store and the Shorewood Store. In support of this effort, Hill's Science Diet has committed to match, pound for pound, every bag of Science Diet dog and cat food donated.
