Hot Dog Shop Reopens Under New Name, Owner

Big Daddy's Dogs opened in the previous location of Ugly's.

The Fourth of July may be over but that doesn't mean your craving for the hotdog has to be.

Big Daddy's Dogs, 197 East Veterans Parkway, recently opened in Yorkville in the previous home of Ugly's Hot Dogs, which closed about a year and a half ago, according to the Aurora Beacon News.

Big Daddy's is owned by Lenny Hall and is a family operated affair, with everyone having pitched in to remodel and design the building and continue to work there.

Hall told the Beacon he developed his hot dog menu based on his three favorite hot dog stands in Chicago. While the menu is simple - a single or double hot dog and three types of sausages, plus fries, cheese fries or tamales - the shop has already received a kind review from a Yorkville Patch reader.

"The hot dogs were great and [the] Polish sausage even better!" wrote Brenda on the Patch boards.
