Cross Lutheran is Readers' Choice for Preschools

If Yorkville Patch commenter's are any barometer, this community loves its preschools. The rave reviews flowed this week , along with suggestions for preschools that originally were left out of the column.

There are a few caveats. Readers' Choice directs readers to the local business directory, so if a preschool is a program inside a larger organization (like the Kendall County Forest Preserve District), we asked readers to comment on the organization's listing instead. Those affected were: Natural Beginnings (), 's Parker's Playtime Preschool, Little Hands Preschool ().

The Fox Valley YMCA has a preschool program, but it's technically located in Plano so it's not in the Yorkville Patch business directory. There wasn't any place to send people to comment in support of that program, but if you'd like to learn more about it, see the YMCA's website here.

And without further ado, after tallying up the comments left on individual directory listings by noon today (Friday,) I'm happy to announce: The winner is .

Kenni Greaves: I enrolled my daughter at Cross as I wanted a christian pre school enviroment and more than got it my daughter loved it, so much so that she still is there in 3rd grade and her sixth year at school, despite moving out of the area some 3 years ago we still make the 40 minute commute each way to enable her to go to this wonderful school, great teachers, great academics,great sports and God, what more could you want.

David Thanepohn: I am a former Cross student. I have always been amazed with the teachers and the staff. They all made a HUGE impact on my life and still do. My preschool teacher (Mrs. Miller) was and still is an amazing person who I hold dear to my heart. I could have never asked for a better education from Cross.

Nichole Meyer: We love Cross! My oldest child attended preschool there and is now in Kindergarten, looking forward to 1st grade next year! My daughter is currently in the 3yr old program, and our youngest will go there as well. We can't say enough good things about Cross, the faculty, and the loving, family atmosphere. I know my children are in good hands and are receiving a wonderful education, as well as growing in their faith!
