Yorkville's Parkview Christian Academy has welcomed a new superintendent to start off the 2013-14 school year.
Deborah Benson joins as superintendent to the academy, which offers preschool through high school aged instruction to the Kendall County area.
Benson has a M.A. in Performance and Pedagogy and an M.S. in Educational Administration from Northern Illinois University, and is proficient in instrumental and vocal music, and regularly serves in music ministry.
Her history of teaching includes choir, band, humanities, Bible and she has been active in leading curriculum development at all levels. As an administrator, Benson has served Westminster Christian School in Elgin, Illinois, and Highland Christian School in Highland, Indiana, at each level of pre-school to high school education.
Her experiences have prepared her well for service at Parkview Christian Academy, and she is excited about serving in the growth of their Pre-K through 12th grade programs. Benson is also currently serving the educational profession through membership on the accreditation board for Christian Schools International and as president of the Chicagoland Christian Administrators Group.
At Parkview, Benson was impressed by the deep spiritual commitment of the board members, the community involvement of the parents, the desire for academic excellence within the community and the stress on remaining Christ-centered.
Also new to Parkview Christian Academy is a second preschool location on the north side of Club 47, at the corner of Countryside and Route 47.
Beginning on August 22nd, this option will provide preschool and all day care for families of three and four-year-olds. Families can register online for this preschool and any of the K through 12th grade programs at www.ParkviewChristian.net or by calling 630-553-5158.
Special thanks to Ann Moehring for the information.
