To commemorate the club's 20th anniversary, the members have compiled a cookbook that contains over 175 recipes that range from entrees, drinks and desserts.  The recipes come from the kitchens of club members, both past and present.

“We have actually been kicking around the idea for creating a cookbook for a couple years now,” club president Brigette Schroeder said.  “We all love cooking, and we thought that this would be a fun way to raise funds for us.”

The cookbook, called “Caring and Sharing for Our Community,” is available on the club's Web site.  It is $13 with shipping fees or only $10 if the purchaser lives in the Kendall County area.

Teresa Wedeen, who led the cookbook effort, said she is happy to deliver any cookbooks for Yorkville residents. It is also sold at , , and Nanette’s in Yorkville.

With such a wide range of recipes, members say it is hard to pinpoint a favorite.

“There are so many recipes that I am anxious to try out,” said Candy Johnson, a club member. “Right now I have to say that my favorite recipe from the book is for the pink champagne cupcakes.”

The club also is gearing up for other big events in the next couple of months. The Bunny Breakfast and Egg Hunt is set for April 16, and Darlings & Divas ~ A Girl's Night Out For All Ages will be held on May 6.

Any woman, 18 and older, who lives in the Kendall County area is welcome to join the club. The club meets September through May on the second Monday of each month. Most meetings are held at the former Castle Insurance Building.

“The biggest reason for joining was that I wanted to meet people and to make a difference in the community,” Schroeder said. “We have fun while to still working hard to raise funds to give to various organizations. I love the sisterhood.”
