The Yorkville High School Wind Ensemble has hit a high note.
The band, directed by Victor Anderson, recently performed at the prestigious Illinois SuperState Concert Band Festival and came away with the top honor of "Honor Band.”
Manhattan Concert Productions, which specializes in group travel and concerts at great venues, has invited the YHS Wind Ensemble to play on Memorial Day at the Orchestra Hall in Chicago after seeing their performace at SuperState.
“This is an amazing opportunity,” said Anderson in a letter to students and parents.
Normally the hall, which is where the Chicago Symphony Orchestra plays, costs $10,000 per hour to rent.
Children and youth from all over the country will be participating in the three-day festival at the Orchestra Hall in combined honors choirs on a concert.

Congratulations to all!
