Thursday Family - $1 Night at Yorkville Hometown Days Festival

19th annual Yorkville Hometown Days Festival, including Thursday Family - $1 Night and City Council vs. Park Board Charity Challenge on Friday Night.   Yorkville, Ill. – This year Yorkville’s Hometown Days festival begins on Thursday, Sept. 1 as Family Fun Night kicks off the 19th annual festival with a $1 per ride carnival special beginning at 5 p.m. and continuing until 9 p.m. at Beecher Community Park, 908 Game Farm Rd..  There also will be $1 food, candy, ice cream and pop/water at the Beecher Concession Stand during Thursday Family Fun Night. And that’s just the beginning.

The festival runs the entire Labor Day Weekend from Thursday, Sept. 1 to Sunday, Sept. 4. There is a $2 admission fee after 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Children 5 and under are free all weekend long! Throughout the weekend, enjoy food, games and contests, carnival rides, magic shows, free family activities, live music, the Pride and Joy Car Show, a pet parade, baby contest, bean bag tournament  and much more! This year’s selection of foods and beverages is sure to get your mouth watering! From BBQ to popcorn to ice cream and snacks from all of your favorite local vendors we’re sure you won’t go home hungry. 

 On Fri., Sept. 2 from 7– 10 p.m., enjoy all your favorite classic ‘80s songs with the cover band 16 Candles. In addition to the great food and music, new this year is the City Council vs. Park Board Charity Challenge at the beverage tent from 6pm - 10pm. All tips will be given to the winners selected charity.

Then on Saturday, form 7-10pm, returning fan favorite Mike and Joe will be performing various ‘90s and today music hits. Finally, on Sunday from 7 – 10 p.m., hi-Infidelity returns as a crowd favorite, an official Hometown Days tradition. So don’t be afraid to get up and rock out to all your favorites!

Hometown Days is also bringing back all your favorite events and activities all weekend long, including the Pancake Breakfast at 8 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, the Baby Contest at 11 a.m. on Saturday, the Yorkville Youth Baseball and Softball Association 5K Run/Walk at 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning, the Yorkville Public Library used book sale on Saturday and on Sunday, and don’t forget to participate in the Bean Bag Tournament on Saturday and to vote for your favorite car during the Pride and Joy Car Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. A fireworks finale at 10:15 p.m. on Sunday concludes the four-day festival.
Kids, ready for a weekend of fun? Purchase a Pay-One-Price pass for $20 during the festival on Saturday or Sunday, and get unlimited carnival rides from 1- 5 p.m. The Pay-One-Price deal is only available from 1 to 5 p.m. on the day you purchase the pass.
