Fox Valley Philharmonic Orchestra in Concert with "Symphonic Showstoppers"

On October 14th, at 3:00 p.m., Music Director, Maryann Flock, and the Fox Valley Philharmonic Orchestra will present a free concert at Baker Memorial Church in St. Charles featuring the enduring gem, Mozart’s Symphony No. 39 in E-flat. This late Classical symphony has a strong connection to the harmonies of Beethoven while it maintains the delightful melodies of Mozart. Along with this expressive classic, the Philharmonic orchestra, and bold French horns, will deliver the rousing “Royale Hunt and Storm” from the mythology-based opera, The Trojans of Carthage by Hector Berlioz.  Lastly, the Philharmonic will present Manuel de Falla’s very popular and fiery, Spanish Dance No. 1, “La Vida Breve”.  In addition, young musicians from the Fox Valley Academy of Music Performance will entertain the audience with lighter music during the intermission.

Don’t miss the musical excitement of this “Showstopper”. (All the concert music was premiered or intended for performance in various old “casinos” of Europe.)

Admission to the concert is free, and donations are accepted. The concert will be held in downtown St. Charles, at Baker Memorial United Methodist Church, 307 Cedar Avenue, 60174.
