Get ready to rock the night away for a worthy cause.
Dirty Dan and his Cool Rockin’ Daddies are partnering with the Aurora District of United Methodist Churches for a Christmas Rock Show to benefit the Ridgewood United Community Food Pantry.
The Dec. 2 show will be at the historic Rialto Square Theater in Joliet. It begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the door.
“We really want...no, need to fill the room for this very worthy cause,” the band said in a press release. “It is, after all, a time for giving, especially if you've been very blessed, as so many of us have, even considering the economy, most of us can still count those blessings.”
The Cool Rockin’ Daddies include Tadd King from Yorkville, Scot Kelly from Ottawa, Jimmi Perrino from Mount Prospect and Joe Gagliardo from Park Ridge.
Band leader "Dirty" Dan Buck, for instance, has fronted bands that have recorded albums for Atlantic Records and Epic Records, bands such as the Boyzz from Illinoizz and Dirt's Raiders. Buck has toured with such music-industry headliners as Aerosmith, UFO, Cheap Trick and REO Speedwagon.
King has starred in his own bands, such efforts as Plain Dealin, The Core and 61 Beale Street. He too, has toured extensively, performing with such stars as Koko Taylor, Robert Cray, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, and Otis Redding.
The other band members also have an extensive history in the annals of rock. Perrino played keyboards for rock 'n' roll legend Chuck Berry. Drummer Kelly has shared the stage with such stars as Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult and The Ramones.
