Yorkville Residents Suspect Superman Movie Being Filmed in Town

The Kent family farmhouse is apparently under construction.

Does this farmhouse look familiar?

Yorkville residents sure think so.

The farmhouse is being built near Route 126 east of Yorkville near the Whitetail Ridge Golf Club, exactly where a few weeks ago residents reported seeing lights late at night and hearing sounds.

At that time Senior planner for Kendall County Building and Zoning, Angela Zubko, was able to confirm that a movie was being filmed in the area of Route 126 and Grove, but could not provide details as to what it was, except that filming is expected to be finished by February 2014.

Well, the rumor mill is flying and so far it seems to be what Yorkville residents suspected: a new Superman movie is being filmed on location.

The farm house that is currently being built appears very similar to the one built in 2011 for the movie Superman: Man of Steel that the Kent family lived in. That house was torn down after filming, although the barn remained.

IMDB speculates that the filming may be for the Batman Vs. Superman movie, which is set for release in July 2015.  Reportedly a scene for the movie was shot mid-October at East Los Angeles College.

What do you think? Is it Batman Vs. Superman, Superman 2 or something entirely unrelated?
