Students aim to raise $20,000 for Cross Evangelical Lutheran School in the school's second annual walk-a-thon.
More than 300 students walked (and in some cases, jogged) laps around parking lot Friday morning. They had collected pledges for the second annual walk-a-thon in an effort to raise money for new desks, equipment and technology, spokeswoman Lori Dervis said.
School principal Susan Lopez was unable to attend the walk-a-thon, so participants carried a cut-out photograph of her so she could be there in spirit. staff were there, though. They brough a fire truck and cheered on the participants.
Last year's inaugural effort raised about $16,000, Dervis said.
