Patch Picks: Summer Camps

Our weekly list of the best of... well, everything. We rank 'em, you tell us if we're right.

Spring break is just around the corner, which means - gasp! - summer isn't that far away. This week, Patch is embracing the promise of warmer weather and has created a list of the local summer camps that will keep your kids entertained, educated and (maybe) out of your hair.

Did we forget anything? Let us know in the comments.

1. Oswegoland Park District Summer Camp Connection: The Park District partners with District 308 to offer this popular camp for kids entering grades first through sixth. The camps run in two- or three-week sessions at District 308 schools. Kids get breakfast, snacks, field trips and swimming. The Park District also provides transportation to other Park District classes during camp hours. Full or part time is available. Registration is ongoing.

3. Walk in the Wild Summer Camps: The Kendall County Forest Preserve offers a variety of camps for children ages four through sixth grade in June and July. Register and pay by May 2 and get $5 off the registration fee.

4. SciTech Hands On Museum in Aurora is offering a variety of week-long summer camps for children ages six to 14 years old for $275. They also have Spring Break educational camps.

5. It's not exactly a camp, but Waubonsee Community College offers summer classes for high school students. The brochure is available in Yorkville District 115's virtual backpack.
