Parking Options for River Night and Summer Solstice Festival
Shuttle services will be available Friday during River Night, but will not be available on Saturday.
This weekend is a pretty busy one in Yorkville, with River Night and the Summer Solstice Festival kicking off.
That also means a lot of traffic, which on top of the construction will not be much fun.
Here's your head's up on what to expect, locations of satellite parking and the introduction of a new shuttle service (for River Night only).
Satellite Parking
Satellite parking is available on all locations marked "parking" on the above map. This includes the Yorkville Public Library, Yorkville High School and Yorkville Intermediate School.
Shuttle Service on Friday
KAT - Kendall Area Transit - will provide general public/handicap accessible transportation to the festival throughout the evening from two remote parking locations:
- Yorkville High School on Game Farm Road
- Yorkville Intermediate School on Rt. 126 (at Rt. 47)
Shuttles on Friday evening will begin at 5 p.m. and the last shuttle will leave the festival at 10 p.m. There is no charge for the shuttle service; however, donations are welcomed.
Parking on Saturday
During the Summer Solstice Festival on Saturday, parking will once again be open at the school parking lots indicated on the map. Shuttle service will, however, not be available on Saturday.
