Local Girl Scouts Piloting 'Cookie Locator' Smartphone App

Application and website let users find times, locations for cookie booths, which open Friday.

Haley Middendorf of Yorkville has already sold 115 boxes of Girl Scout cookies going door-to-door.

Samoas and Thin Mints seemed to be the most popular, she said. Her mom drove her to certain areas where she knew people, but she went to the door and made her sales pitch alone.

“You’re supposed to go to the homes you know so you don’t go to any strangers,” said Middendorf, of Troop 4571.
