IDOT Hosting Public Forum for Proposed Route 47 Improvement

The meeting will be held at the Meadowhawk Lodge located in the Hoover Forest Preserve on Thursday, March 14 at 4 p.m.

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) is holding a public informational meeting regarding the proposed improvement for Illinois Route 47 from Caton Farm Road to Route 71. 

The  meeting will take place on Thursday, March 14 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Meadowhawk Lodge located in the Hoover Forest Preserve, 11285 Fox Road, Yorkville.

The existing roadway is reported at at or near capacity and traffic is projected to increase.

The proposed improvement would involve reconstructing Route 47 with two  lanes in each direction and a curbed median south of Ament Road, as well as a two way left turn lane north of Ament Road. 

The intersections at Caton FarmRoad, Walker Road, Ament Road, Lgion Road and Saravanos Drive will also be updated.

The meeting will be conducted in an informal open house format with IDOT personnel available to answer questions about the study.
