Business owners along Hydraulic and residents who use the street can rejoice: the road is finally open.
Foxy’s Ice Cream owner Robyn Sutcliff posted the happy announcement on the Yorkville Patch, Friday afternoon. She said the road officially opened at 4:30 p.m. Friday, which has been closed for several months due to construction on Route 47.
The road is now a right turn only heading west on Hydraulic to turn onto Route 47, which is what IDOT said would happen back in July.

“Foxy’s Ice Cream is very happy,” said Sutcliff in her post.
She thanked Senator Dick Durbin and IDOT for helping to open Hydraulic.
