Where/When: Loon Lake at Silver Springs State Park, registration is at 11 a.m., swimmers will head into the lake at 1 p.m. Sunday
Why Go: You can support a good cause while watching what others are willing to do (and how cold they are willing to get) for a good cause
Pricing: Lunch is free for "plungers," $10 per person or $25 for four guests.

Craft Show

Kane County Flea Market
Where/When: Kane County Fairgrounds, North Ave. & Randall Rd., St. Charles; Saturday, March 5 from noon to 5 p.m. and Sunday, March 6 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Why Go: Up to 1,000 dealers sell antiques and fancy collectibles.
Pricing: $5 per person.

Spaghetti Dinner
Where/When: Ginger Creek Community Church, 2850 Ginger Woods Pkwy, Aurora; Sunday, March 6 from 3:30 to 8 p.m.
Why Go: Help rebuild lives at this Hope for Tomorrow benefit.
Pricing: $10 per person, $7 for ages 5-11, children under 5 are free with adult.

Fat Tuesday Crawfish Celebration
