Flooding Possible After Tornado Warning Expired

No official sightings reported in Yorkville as of 10 p.m. Tuesday, but a funnel cloud was spotted in Oswego about 8:15 p.m.

The National Weather Service was warning about continued thunderstorms and flooding after a tornado warning expired at 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Weather-spotters reported one to two inches of rainfall around Kendall County and surrounding areas, which could lead to flooding along small streams and near low water crossings, according to the weather service. The warning was set to expire at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Funnel clouds were spotted over the west side of Oswego at about 8:15 p.m. Tuesday. A large tree at Route 34 and Kendall Point Drive was blown over by the storm, blocking three lanes of traffic. According to Oswego police reports, the tree was cleared by about 9:40 p.m.
