If you've been seeing lights late at night and hearing sounds out in the cornfields, we promise you, it's not aliens.

Yorkville residents contacted Patch about lights in the sky in the area of Route 126 and Grove Road, just past the Whitetail Ridge subdivision.

"No trespassing" signs have also been put up in the area and a new street sign has apparently moved in as well. A resident reported there were also people carrying spotlights in the evening hours.

What could it all mean?

Yorkville city officials said they had not heard of any activity in the area, but noted that it was Kendall County jurisdiction.

Commander Phil Smith of the Sheriff's office, who served as the police liaison during the filming of the Superman movie last year, had not heard of anything in the area either.

"They haven't contacted us yet if there is something," he said.

Senior planner for Kendall County Building and Zoning, Angela Zubko, was able to confirm that the lights are what many residents suspected: a movie is being filmed.

Zubko did not have any information on what the movie was, and would likely not be able to provide it if she did.

She was able to say that the filming was supposed to begin in late August and is expected to finish at the end of February 2014.

If you see any interesting pictures of the action or in the area, feel free to email them to your editor at natalie.stevens@patch.com.

Any guesses as to what movie you think it is?

Superman doesn't start filming until next summer, and they would of announced it as they are casting for extras before it begins.

Charles, you are partly correct. Sara my inside source says mid January. Dunno why they are keeping it secret. I will not say exactly what it is until I know its OK to say.

I'm wondering if it as survey crew for Warner Bros. They may be looking at places to film again and may use the same property. We should know for sure if we see the house being built again.

Movie: Batman vs. Superman The house that was used in the filming of "Man of Steel" as the Kent Farmhouse is gone and only the barns remain. Temporary lights have been erected at the site. There is also work being done in a yellow roped off area where the house was in "Man of Steel". Could they be getting ready to put the house back up? You be the judge.
