Witches Ball Set For This Weekend

Sandwich, IL – The Sandwich Association of Merchants second annual Witches Ball will take place Saturday, October 19. On that date, participating retailers will be hosting a ladies day out shopping event in order to showcase their fall décor and help raise funds for Our Sharing Pantry.

Participating shops include Bittersweets, Country Emporium, Farmers Daughter, Hoadley’s Hallmark, Mandee Lee’s, Prindi’s Antique Mall, Rusty Rooster, Sandwich Antique Mart and Two Sisters Then & Now. Most stores are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will be selling a special coupon book for $3 with all proceeds being donated to Our Sharing Pantry food pantry. The coupon book includes special discounts and offers that are good at the retail locations listed above.

“Last year the coupon book was very popular with shoppers and helped us raise a nice donation for Our Sharing Pantry,” said Sharon Maroo, President of the Sandwich Association of Merchants and co-owner of the Sandwich Antique Mart.

Our Sharing Pantry is located at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Somonauk and serves residents of Somonauk, Sandwich and Leland. For more information on Our Sharing Pantry, call 815-498-2742.

Originally the girl’s day out was to be followed by a costume ball. Unfortunately, the organizers have decided to cancel this event but they thank everyone who was working on the costume ball up to this point.
