SANDWICH – PR Productions invites children and families alike to follow them — to a bizarre, backwards world found only down the rabbit hole.
Performances of “Alice in Wonderland,” adapted for the stage by director Christine Roe, are August 16-18 at the Historic Sandwich Opera House, 140 E. Railroad Street in Sandwich.
The production is at 7:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. All tickets are $8 for general admission and may be purchased at www.wewantpr.com, by calling 888-395-0797 or at the door, based on availability.
The play, which is appropriate for all ages, brings everything you know about the classic tale to life — Alice, the White Rabbit, the Queen of Hearts, the Mad Hatter and every other denizen of Wonderland all make their mark.
“Alice in Wonderland” was first published in 1865 by English author Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, under the pseudonym Lewis Carrol. The story itself has been adapted thousands of times and even inspired the popular Disney film of the same name.
The production features Annie Shirley in the title role of Alice, Abbey Lippert as the White Queen and Tari Jansen as the Red Queen. The cast also features Ashley Cross, Trey Ambrose, Madison Johnson, Caitlyn Roe, Sam Leake, Riley Jansen, Clare Smith, Nate Leake and Macie Jansen.
