Wind Chill Could Reach 25 Below in Yorkville

Wind chill advisory extends into Friday for the area.

Brrr! The wind is really biting in Yorkville!

The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill advisory for the Yorkville area from 9 p.m. Thursday to 10 a.m. Friday.

Temperatures are expected to be between 8 below and 18 below and the wind chill is expected to be between 15 below and 25 below. 

A wind chill advisory means there will be very cold air and strong winds that combine to make a wind chill. Frostbite and hypothermia are possible if precautions are not taken, warns the NWF.

If you must go outside, the NWF recommends wearing a hat and gloves.
