Wholesome Harvest Class
Getting the most nutrition out of your vegetable garden for your family means picking vegetables at their prime. University of Illinois Extension Educator Richard Hentschel will discuss best practices for harvesting vegetables from your home or community garden.
August 7, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the Kendall County Extension Office, 7775B IL Route 47 in Yorkville. Call 630-553-5823 to register. Program fee is $10.
The program will include a visit the Demonstration Garden planted and maintained by the Kendall County Master Gardeners.

The University of Illinois Extension offers non-credit educational programs in agriculture and natural resources, community and economic development and family and consumer sciences. Programs include the 4-H and Cloverbuds youth programs, nutrition and gardening information and training for child care providers. Plenty of volunteer opportunities are available, from master gardeners answering questions at local farmers markets to area residents collecting and distributing data on local rainfall.
