Forward.... April 16, 2014 at 08:44 am
The fact of the matter is that prisons ARE being built for profit and who better to incarcerate, inRead More another form of modern day slavery, than putting minorities in jail. Studies are abundant that show there is a pathway of putting young black people out of schools, expelled for the same act a non-black child gets suspended for. And p.s., the schools in inner cities are set up to fail, lack of teachers, funding, books, etc., so you can say 'see, they just don't want to learn." Thus starts the path to prison, no education, no training programs, no jobs in concentrated minority areas, no future, stricter laws for low gauged infractions, etc. But when the rich and privileged are in court they can either go to a rehab. or sentenced to community service or probation with no time served due to 'affluencesa' or 'prison would not be go for my client'. The public education system is on its way to privatization such as the prison system because we are now an oligarchy! These moronic responses show how America is still not willing to accept or change the demonization of black people. Brought over and enslaved for over 400 years; freed in 1865 to 1965 with no rights. Still being subject to discrimination but the easy answer is they are lazy, thugs. The reality is American was started by a bunch of lawless yahoo's who still tell you to think non-whites are superior and all others are inferior. Raped, pillaged, murdered over 20 million Native American's but the quick response in the fall to....drugs, minorities, illegal immigrants, etc. The system is set up this way so you feel more comfortable not facing the fact that those you admire or tell you what you want to hear, so that you don't have to look to the core of how this country was founded. Prisons are just another form of slavery!

Matt B. - Thanks for taking the time to read my blog! I appreciate your comments, and thank you forRead More being a beef consumer! Herc - Thanks for reading! GMO labeling is a complex subject. The exisiting "Certified Organic" label will indicate a GMO-free product. Look for that round, green label in the grocery store if that's your desire.

I once read a blogger that claimed that Obamacare has never been changed since it was passed...

Lyle, it always seems to work out. That's the beauty of our form of government. It's pretty muchRead More self policing. Just because YOU don't believe in something doesn't mean it isn't true.

Max Smart - You do "dominate" the entire arena of ignorance... Your only competition isRead More Gov. Rick Perry, I mean Gov. "Oops..."

Russ, thank you for your HONEST assessment of the situation. I sincerely want to "shake upRead More Springfield" but Mr. Rauner's reluctance to identify "the special interests" that he feels are responsible leave me VERY concerned. Is he a "Scott Walker wannabe"? - THAT is my fear and why I cannot support him. Teachers, and most public employees, are NOT the problem!! The horrendous number and needless layers of government is unsustainable. Campaign finance reform needs to be reform #2. Without it career politicians will simply move from district to board to commission. And politicians' pensions just simply need to be ended - doing so will eliminate the need for term limits. Finally, I support drug screening for ANYONE who receive tax dollars - not just aid recepients - that includes employees, officials, legislators and judges.
