On the 3rd Day of Christmas My Trainer Gave to Me....

....a durable and functional gym bag

A gym bag makes a excellent gift for anyone that works out in a gym. (Hence, the term "gym bag") One my favorite bags has a separate section to put my shoes in. Most facilities require that members change into workout shoes from street shoes, but inside shoes still get a little bit dirty and it's nice to be able to keep them from touching everything else in the bag.

Other things to think about when choosing the perfect bag:

A great bag has lots of smaller pockets to hold things like ipods, cell phones, etc. Maybe a fleece lined pocket to hold jewelry. Of course, I always like to have a little pouch to hold all my snacks :)

It's a personal preference: backpack, over the shoulder or a rolling bag?

Will your "giftee" be changing from work clothes into workout clothes? Choose a bigger bag, one with large divided sections.

A narrow, padded compartment to hold a laptop or ipad would be a handy feature. Think about a separate compartment for a purse, too

How about mesh water bottle "holders" on the outside of the bag?

Going to the gym with kids? A removable pouch filled with "kid essentials" to leave with childcare would be helpful?

A swimmer would appreciate a water-proof compartment for wet swimwear, in fact, a waterproof exterior is an excellent feature!

For the yoga obsessed person they make bags that include a yoga mat holder-no more juggling multiple bags :)

Well... those are all my tips on how to choose a fabulous gym bag to give as a gift! There's a ton of different options!

Only 2 more gifts yet to go til Christmas. Yikes...I still have tons to do!!
