New floors have been installed in Heritage Hall rooms at the Chapel on the Green in Yorkville. This project is part of an effort to renovate and upgrade several multipurpose rooms that will offer additional space for bridal parties as well as Chapel-sponsored community programs and events, such as the upcoming Century of Brides vintage fashion show and exhibit on April 22. The Yorkville High School freshman has been juggling her budding singing career with school work, family and friends. This Friday, she will release her first professional music video for her song, You Survived the Cancer, which she wrote in honor of her mother who was diagnosed with breast cancer about a year ago. Recently, Anna found out she will be traveling to meet with two prominent record labels. The participating artists are Amanda Iwanski, Merrie Woodward, Jim Rendant, Walter Lesus, Doris Lein, and Joan McEachern. “We really enjoy hosting the Kendall Arts Guild as they bring a nice mixture of different media and techniques,” library employee Sharyl Iwanski said. “This show is a good example.” The artists' work is a mix that includes fabric art, photography, acrylic on canvas and more, Iwanski said. Walter Lesus of Sandwich is the latest artist to display work at the Yorkville Public Library.
Walter Lesus has been using a paint brush to express himself since the late 1960s. “My work is my communication,” the Sandwich resident said. “It's how I talk to the world.” About two years ago he began dabbling in digital photography. Some of his work, including two paintings and seven photographs, is currently on display in the Yorkville Public Library. Library personnel regularly showcase artwork from area residents on the library's second floor. One painting, Lesus calls “Dependence,” is done with acrylic paint and varnish. “The two don't mix, so I manipulate the medium to my liking and added many layers to it,” he said. “It is a statement on how we are all dependent on at least one thing in our life.” His other painting, called "…
