DUI Charged

Police arrested 49-year-old Jose Martinez of Berwyn for DUI and illegal transportation of alcohol. After pulling Martinez during a traffic stop at about 12:30 a.m., police discovered an open container of alcohol in the vehicle, according to reports. He was taken to the station and charged.

Domestic Battery

Police responded to a domestic battery charge in the 400 block of Bridge Street at about 1:02 p.m., according to police reports. No additional information was provided.

Theft Reported

A resident in the 2600 block of Bristol Ridge Road near Yorkville reported a missing handgun to the sheriff's office. The resident could not pinpoint a time when the gun could have been removed from his house, police said. The gun has a value of $400.
