Photos: Biz Boo! and the Halloween Egg Hunt Extravaganza

Crowds of kids flocked to businesses across Yorkville on Saturday for the annual business trick-or-treating event. A few hours later, they hunted across Beecher Park during the city's annual Halloween Egg Hunt Extravaganza.

More than 80 businesses participated in the Yorkville Area Chamber of Commerce's Biz Boo! trick-or-treating event Saturday. Additional events included a pumpkin-carving contest sponsored by St. Joseph Cabinetry & Designs and a Touch-a-Truck event sponsored by Rush-Copley Medical Center and Thompson Chiropractic Clinic.

In the evening, the Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department hosted a Halloween Egg Hunt Extravaganza. The annual event was expanded to include hayrides, a storyteller, and pumpkin decorating, as well as a search for about 4,000 plastic eggs in the dark. The event, which previously had been held at Town Square Park, was held at Beecher Park.

Feel free to add your own photographs from the events to this photo gallery.

Editor's note: The gallery was updated Saturday evening with photos from the egg extravaganza.

This a wonderful community event put on by the Yorkville Area Chamber along with many business sponsors and businesses. The weather was beautiful and so many activities brought out the parents and all cute children in their costumes!! Hope everyone enjoyed the day!

I just added a few photos from the city's Halloween Egg Hunt Extravaganza. Seemed like a great turnout there - 4,000 eggs were collected within minutes :)

the egg hunt was alot of fun. i thought the hunt would start with the younger kids and then the older but all went at once and it still worked out good. maybe next year they can have the decorating pumpkin contest during the time and give the prizes to the kids at the hunt, hope next year is more food and also a recycling egg box for the people who dont want their empty eggs. thank you to all who helped and put it together . also thanks to the red head tractor driver, he was really funny. love the stories :}

I'm glad the tractor driver played his character well; I didn't get a chance to talk with him. We'll have a selection of photos from Fontanez Photography's contest at Biz Boo posted later (voting is through the company's Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/FontanezPHOTOGRAPHY)
