Don't have an idea Mitt to tax breaks to shipping jobs over seas. Try Sensata: Freeport, IL. www.bainport.com

Earl I have a cousin who works for Sensata. He was told when the Chinese workers came over 2 yrs ago that they were training them for another shop opening in China. Come to find out that he was training his own replacement. Talk about the scum of the earth, hope they all rot in hell.
Very few people are aware that the in-sourcing is here. They are given visa's to come into this country for a set amount of time and work for these companies. People also don't understand that they are making what they would in their home country, whether that be 2 cents or 2 dollars a day. All this is perfectly legal. Not one person has job security, you could be next.

Lehrer has no control on this debate, just disgusting.

Lerhrer did a good job. He let them loose like a debate should be. Obama kept looking to be saved by the bell but the bell didn't ring. Its hard to ask for a 2nd term when you failed in the first term and can't run on your record.

You are right on Scotty. Obama is and was lost without his mistress..."The Teleprompter".....he drifted but I never felt he was a good speaker as he seems to always preach and point....
The Ryan/Biden debate will be fun...Ryan has already won that one!

Lehrer was awful. He was useless and he's moderated dozens of debates and is/was a highly respected moderator.

Baba.
Don't blame Lehrer because your guy lost. He proved he is nothing without his teleprompter and the media to cover for him.

I think most people have made up their minds already. The debate certainly didn't change my mind. If anything, it reinforced my views. Voters have a clear choice between the two. No one should be confused about the two. Their views are right there, crystal clear.

Yours is the most astute comment I've read on Patch in many a moon, Ms. R. R-S. Not only do I heartily concur with your sentiments, but I really admire how you said what you said, but not so's that the rest of us can tell whether you're on Team Obama or Team Romney.
Brilliant!
As for me, well, I STILL think Republicans are full of Mitt.

I'd say Romney got the best of it tonight but still no specifics.

No it wasn't, which is one more reason I didn't vote for President Obama the first time around. I'm not convinced Mitt Romney is the answer though, I don't see any substance, just pandering.

Romney was the clear winner. He was armed with facts and defended American values well. Well done.

I didn't watch the whole thing - and I have to admit I was pretty much decided Obama should have more time. What I did see, however, made me question the promises the President was making, it just sounded like deja Vu. Hmmmmm.

Romney did an awesome job refuting what Obama thought Romney's positions were. Obama kept throwing himself under the bus, and kept on backing up over himself. I hate to say it, it was getting pretty predictable, the same old talking point lines that Obama's been using promoting his special interests. Romney TKO'd him in the first five minutes!!! Romney was very prepared. Obama showed just how inexperienced he still is after four years as President. Such a shame. Betcha round two goes just like round one. Any takers?

One added thought: I really, really think Obama would have done much better WITH a teleprompter. Wouldn't have looked like a deer in the headlights. The debate I really want to see is the Ryan / Biden debate. If this one was a home run for Romney, Ryan's gonna hit a grand slam! Set the DVR for your kids and grandkids to remember it by.

I agree. Ryan/Biden should be very entertaining. Ryan is very calm, knowledgeable and well spoken. Biden is bullying, angry loud mouth, gaff machine. The VP debate could put the last nail in Barry's coffin.

So true, Romney was well prepared leaving Obama looking around for some one to tell him what to say. He can't disput Romney, because every fact Romney stated is exactly what is going on. Paul Ryan is my favorite, can't wait to see him against Biden, Obama must be shivering for fear of Biden's foot getting stuck in his mouth. as always.

Romney was clearly the winner in this debate. Obama spewed the same old
schmuck that we've heard the last 4 years which is absolutely nothing. Just rants
on & on & says absolutely nothing. Romney was specific & kept coming at Obama hard. Romney was more prepared, Obama seemed like he just wanted it to be over
with.

Name me the "specific" solutions that Romney added in this debate. The only thing he was specific on is the same thing you have heard him say over and over... He wa coached for dozens of hours and you can see it paid off. Debaters go on key words, then go off with a memorized position.
However, he still added nothing to what he will do.

And you don't think Obama was coached? Didn't help much without his teleprompter though. He came across as arrogant but that's nothing new. I agree that the Biden/Ryan debate will be pure entertainment. Like bringing a knife to a gun fight.

Reduce taxes on middle income earners, repeal/replace Dodd-Frank, repeal/replace Obamacare, strengthen the military, remove regulations that cause 'un-intended consequences' and cost jobs, reduce the deficity and move toware a balanced budget (with a number of specifics),and on and on. He was as specific as could be given the format of the debate. You DID watch it, didn't you?

Bob...read Ernie below for specifics and note this. Romney said he sets the goals and brings the parties together to work out the details/specifics. This so that it is a participative event and THINGS GET DONE. Unlike king obama who dictates what he wants with no negotiations and when nothing gets done he reverts to the blame game. Working together is what makes things happen. Dictating gets zero done! O is a managment looser and disaster for the country. He has got to go!

Question I'd like submitted: What does each candidate have in mind for the poor, disabled, mentally ill people. Without the appropriate psychiatric medication management, and therapy if needed, these people CANNOT live a lifestyle that contributes to society, let alone care for themselves. No one can live their best life, if they are not mentally stable. And...mental illness is no one's fault, and the mentally ill person cannot be blamed, if appropriate care is not available to them. Right now, psychiatry and counseling is almost non-existent for these people. Just look at all the mental health centers in Chicago that have closed. Did other psychiatrists pick up those patients? NO!!! It's the same story, no matter where they live. Please address this issue, presidential candidates.

Seems clear that romney won the first one, to me it seemed like Obama and his campaign took a few uppercuts from the GOP. Can't wait for Ryan v Biden on thursday, should be a good one, but I think Ryan has got the upper hand going in because of his vocalness.

I just do not understand why many people do not see that Obama is deliberately doing what he can to destroy our nation. He Invites Muslim Brotherhood into the White House, Adds Trillions of $ of debt to our kids and grandkids, he Reduces the amount of drilling/exploration of oil on public land, he shuts down drilling of oil in the Gulf (against court order), He states that he will purposely "bankrupt coal companies" and that he wants our enegry rates/costs to " necesarily skyrocket", he persomally states and records that "if the political winds change he WILL side with the Muslims", He actually bows to an Egyptian leader, Pushes and enacts a law that makes you/me actually pay for somebody elses contraceptives/abortions and people are OK with this???? I'm sure I'm missing a lot here, but come on people, can you not see that this person is trying to destroy our nation from within?? The sad part is, when YOU wake up and actually see it - it may be too late!!!!

Tom, I dont see anything wrong in what you wrote! However, you must realize the part Jews play in all of this. Theres a lot of "duals" in our government and theyve been theyre a long time. In the end, these two candidates are both bought and paid for.
