Democrats Slate Two Candidates in Kendall County Elections
District 2 County Board member Elizabeth Flowers seeking re-election afterall.
Kendall County Board member Elizabeth Flowers is pursuing a spot on the November ballot after sitting out the Democratic primary.
She submitted petitions necessary to be "slated" as a Democratic candidate. Slating is a process in which parties can name a candidate to run for any spots on their ticket remaining empty after the primary election.
In addition to Flowers, of Montgomery, local Democrats slated Danae Iacovella of Montgomery to run against incumbent Republican Rebecca Morganegg for Kendall County Circuit Clerk. Those two candidacies can be challenged through June 11.
The move leaves four Democrats and five Republicans seeking five seats for Kendall County Board District 2 in the Nov. 6 election. Independent candidates must file their petitions by June 25.
Three Democrats - Evelyn Maxine Givens, Herman Johnson, and Kristine Heiman, all of Oswego - submitted petitions during the primary.
Flowers did not return a call seeking comment Tuesday, nor did she attend the County Board meeting Tuesday evening.

What are some examples "Tony"; more contemporary foaming at the mouth sans political education, training, or experience? Trying to fit in to a perceived social norm for what a local Republican should be? There's a real individual for you, Mr Jefferson! Do you have a clue what the record shows (not word-of-mouth, but real recorded history) about the candidates in question? I am not a Democratic member, or supporter, but I am really frustrated with the current trend of moronic bigotry and commentary about politics. I recommend you read the Constitution, the amendments referred to as the Bill of Rights, the rest of the amendments, and briefs of landmark cases of the Supreme Court. I recommend you read the state constitution and amendments, and state court briefs. I suggest you read the lists of bills at the federal and state level and the voting records of the members. Then, I hope you may be sufficiently prepared to make an intelligent and informed statement. Politicians (in our country) are creations of the body politic, and those that adapt and thrive on the current state of society rise to the top. Politics and politicians (in our country) reflect the general will. However, "votes" come not from each individual person, but from each individual dollar. Evolution has progressed such that people no longer use dollars, but dollars use people. Do your homework, you will find that the source of dollars is the same for most political activity.
