The organizers of the Stars of Hope Sky Lantern Festival will be at River City Roasters from noon to 1 p.m. today (Oct. 13) distributing sky lanterns for those who want to use them at home.

They have about 100 lanterns left after the event Oct. 6 that raised about $4,000 for Suicide Prevention Services of Batavia. They are offering them for a $20 donation to Suicide Prevention Services, which also serves Kendall County.

Are you familiar with Suicide Prevention Services? Leaders host support groups for people who have attempted suicide and people who have lost someone to suicide (Details here). They also offer depression screenings and can refer people to specialists who can help them. (Details here).
