There is still time to sign up for the Fox Country Players’ Theatre Arts Academy.  Whether you are a singer, dancer, actor, painter or just looking for the chance to gain confidence and make new friends, there is a place for you at the Academy!  The theme for 2012 is the Summer of SEUSS - Please, join us for this fun, imaginative experience!
 
The Fox Country Players’ Theatre Arts Academy takes place July 9 - July 29, 2012 and is open to students entering grades 1-12 and graduating seniors.  All classes and performances will take place at the Community Christian Church at 129 Commercial Drive in Yorkville, IL.

Students entering grades 1-8 will have a spectacular, theatrical experience while rehearsing for the show “Seuss-a-palooza”.  While preparing for their performance, the students learn about acting, singing, dancing and the art of stagecraft in a positive and enriching environment.  Class times are Monday through Friday; 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. with performances on July 20th and July 21st at 7:00 p.m..  The cost per student is $90.00.

High School students will advance their performance skills as they rehearse the full length musical, “Seussical Jr.”.  While putting together this whimsical show, the students will be immersed in every aspect of the production from character study to costuming.  They will also gain confidence and poise while making lasting friendships. Class times are Monday through Friday; July 9 - 20 from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. and July 25 - 29 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m..  Performances are on July 27th and July 28th at 7:00 p.m. and July 29th at 2:00 p.m..  The cost per student is $120.00.

At the Academy, top theatre professionals and educators will provide direction and inspiration as they impart their knowledge in a fun and positive environment.  Students will also benefit from participating in a variety of workshops designed to hone specific theatre skills, including auditioning, improvisation and stage make-up.

The cost for the Theatre Arts Academy includes a show t-shirt, rehearsal materials, student membership in Fox Country Players, a cast party for all ages and a lifetime of great memories!
