Ralph Joseph Benjamin Jr., age 82 of Yorkville, IL passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at his home. He was born on April 12, 1930 in Chicago, IL the son of Ralph J. and Lillian (Connors) Benjamin.

Ralph was united in marriage on November 30, 1957 to the former Marilyn Ruth Alford and they spent the next 52 happy years together until her passing on December 1, 2009. Mr. Benjamin proudly served his country with the United States Navy, in the South Pacific during the Korean War. He was a former Manager at Illinois Bell in Chicago, IL until his retirement. Ralph was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Ralph is survived by his sons, Thomas J. (Diane) Benjamin of Naperville, IL and James A. (Darla) Benjamin of Northfield, MN; his six grandchildren, Thomas Jr., Brian, Jason Benjamin and Nina Smith, Alexander and Rebecca Benjamin; and his sister, Jo Ann Lundberg of Monee, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Lillian Benjamin and his wife, Marilyn Benjamin.

Friends may visit on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM concluding with a Funeral Service at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 East Countryside Parkway in Yorkville, IL. Interment will be private in the Chapel Hill Gardens South Cemetery in Oak Lawn, IL.
